April 7, 2025
Dear Alum,
We had 40 Aquinians at the T.A.T. today for our April 7, 2025, luncheon. Since the October 2024 luncheon we lost 15 alumni. Father Stephen Dominic Hayes O.P. Prior of the Dominican Community at St. Patrick Church led us as in prayer for the deceased and ill. Father Paul Marich Pastor of St. Patrick Church led us in the blessing of our meal.
Father Paul Marich, O.P., on behalf of St. Patrick Parish and the Dominican Friars of St. Patrick Priory, sent us a nice and touching letter of thanks for our Alumni participation as guards for the public veneration of the St. Thomas Aquinas major relics that took place last December. The public attendance for the 2 days was approximately 3000. Serving as guards were 22 Aquinas Alumni over the 2 days.
Father Marich, on a personal note wrote: “I imagine that keeping guard before the relics of the patron of your alma mater was uplifting for all of you. How many of you could have imagined when you were students at Aquinas that this opportunity would come one day. For me, it was quite emotional to see so many of you keeping guard before the relics of St. Thomas Aquinas, to whom we are devoted.”
Our 50/50 winners were Edward Price, class of 1964, and John Fortkamp, class of 1958.
Our next luncheon will be Monday May 5, 2025, at the TAT.
Stay safe and healthy, and I hope to see everyone at the May 5, 2025, luncheon.
Lou Nobile, class of 1957
Alumni President
