October 7, 2024
Dear Alum,
We had 60 Aquinians at the T.A.T. today for our October 7, 2024, luncheon. Since the September luncheon we lost 2 alumni. Father Stephen Dominic Hayes O.P. Prior of the Dominican Community at St. Patrick Church led us as in prayer for the deceased and ill. Father Hayes also led us in the blessing of our meal.
Father Paul Marich, O.P. pastor of St. Patrick Church was in attendance and informed us of an upcoming event at St. Patrick’s which he thought would be of great interest to us. On December 7 and 8 our patron Saint Thomas Aquinas’s relics will be on display for public veneration. Our alumni are being asked to spend some time keeping guard (standing on either side of the relics) during the public veneration. Mike Fitzpatrick, class of 1962, is preparing a schedule of those committing to keep guard at various times (hours from 6pm to 10 pm Saturday December 7 following the 5 pm vigil Mass, and hours 1 to 9pm on Sunday following the 12 pm Mass.) Please contact Mike at 614-296-3286 or mjfitz@archall.com to let him know of your interest.
Our 50/50 winners were Paul Lombard, class of 1954, and Ed DiSabato, class of 1961. Alan Lashley, Class of 1958 won a framed picture of Father Smith that was donated by the estate of a deceased alumnus.
We ask Marianne and Michelle to be acknowledged for their fine efforts in our behalf during 2024.
Our next luncheon will be Monday April 7, 2025, at the TAT.
Look for our annual newsletter in early December.
Stay safe and healthy, and I hope to see everyone at the April 2025 luncheon.
